What are some decent places in Baltimore to visit around the Inner Harbor? preferably not museums. Apart from the national aquarium, I would like to visit places where there are some involving and activity-oriented attractions, instead of just standing and staring at exhibits. I need some advice on which city to visit, Nashville or Baltimore.? Okay, well I rarely get an opportunity to travel, but I have lived in a few different places in my 25 years so I not entirely dumb when it comes to being in new places. So, I would like to get a few expert opinions from you avid travelers out there on which city would be a better use of my time and money. Actually this trip is supposed to give me a better idea on where I would like to live once I finish my degree since I am tired of being in this conservative little area. My main interest and passion is music which is why I am interested in seeing Nashville. However, I love being near the water and would also like to see Baltimore's harbor area. Which one in your opinion has the better restaurants? I'm assuming Baltimore would have Nashville beat in the seafood area and Nashville would possibly have better southern style food. Which has more attractions (museums, zoos, shopping, theaters, live events, etc.) and/or better nightlife? I live in southern VA so Baltimore is actually closer by car, but I don't mind driving.
I got 3-6 days where I am vacationing to Washington DC. Between the DC area and Baltimore, what should I do? Hi, I am going on vacation with my grandson over his spring break, which is mid-march. I want him to have a fun experience. He is 13 years old, and has a very big sense of curiosity. I want him to see D.C. as an awesome place, so I want to hit great attractions. I am quite open to anything, but I refuse Amusement Parks. We will be in the area, and don't mind heading up to Baltimore as well. What should we make sure to see in D.C. if we were there for only 3 days? What should we do in 4, 5, or 6 days? Thanks.
What's there to do in Baltimore? I'm going there for two days, and I'd like to know some attractions, restaurants, etc.
Weekend getaways from central jersey? I want to take my girl on a weekend getaway from central jersey. Please suggest a good place to visit and have fun. What's so great about Reading Terminal Market? I keep seeing it as a top spot mentioned for tourists in Philadelphia. Why? I am open to the possibility that it is wonderful, but I don't know what could be so great about an urban food market. Isn't it just like the markets in Baltimore, i.e. Lexington Market? Is the food so great? Are the prices so low? What is the big attraction?
Is "its" a main verb in the following sentence? This is a sentence on my homework and I have to underline the main verb and helping verb. I know the helping verb, but not the main verb. New Orleans/Baton Rouge? I could come up with more, but I'l leave it at that. I get that theyre usually just tourist attractions, but it would only make sense... at least to me...

Is anyone surprised Houston ranked number 3 in America's ten most underrated cities? I grew up there, and I know how bad the traffic is around the Galleria on Fridays. The smog and gang problems are no big secret, nonetheless. Maybe I'm just skeptical because I was brought up in Alief, and I saw how the gangs overran the area like cockroaches. The schools in Southwest Houston were abysmal to say the least. However, I noticed a huge change in scenery when my folks and I relocated to the Heights. We later moved to Austin, which I think is way overrated. Yes, I like that it's a more liberal city, but there isn't much going on here other than Sixth Street, and the few puny state museums. People get so offended here when I don't put Austin up on a high pedestal. I never said it was horrible; I stated it was overrated. The other nine most underrated cities were Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Minneapolis; Portland, OR; Providence, RI; Kansas City, MO; Sacramento, Fort Lauderdale, and Louisville, KY. I guess these places are overrated because they do have lots of cultural festivities, yet none of them have great tourist attractions like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and San Francisco do. Is anyone else surprised Houston ranked number 3 on the list of America's top ten most underrated cities? Pardon me! I meant to say they were underrated because they didn't receive thousands of tourists each year like New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Miami, and Las Vegas. Nobody I know has ever traveled to those ten locales for their honeymoon.
Why isn't the superbowl played in cold weather states? If you look at it the most die-hard fans are from the north, particularly the Northeast. Philly, New York, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Washington, Cleveland, Cincinatti, Baltimore, etc etc have the most die-hard (no, not bandwagon, but die hard) fans in the NFL, but they make the fans travel to warm weather climates. On top of that, most of the competitive teams play in the cold weather states, and FOOTBALL IS PLAYED IN THE COLD WEATHER SEASONS. So why is it that the NFL feels compelled to either put the game inside or in warm weather climates? I truly believe that if you played the Super Bowl up north it would give the game a more realistic feel, and on top of that since almost all of the teams that actually play and win the superbowl are cold weather teams. 10 of the last 13 superbowl champions have been cold weather teams, and 8 of the last 13 superbowl losers have been from cold weather states. Don't you think it's about time they realize that the majority of the NFL's success is due to the Northern teams and give us some love with a COLD super bowl? I understand that the southern states are more tourist attractions and the superbowl just adds to that, but Philly, New York, and other northern cities are tourist spots as well, and I highly doubt their sales would drop. Additionally only the TRUE fans would go if it was in cold weather, which would again help with the image of football making it truly a fans' sport, not like baseball and basketball where most of the fans are just there to been seen and hopefully bump in to a celebrity. So what say you? Why no love for the northern fans who make this NFL legitamate? -phillybirdsphorever Bleeding Green since 1987

Where is a good place to visit (5 hour max...driving)? My birthday is coming up and I want to take a little road trip. since plane tickets are a little too expensive for this college student i/we will be driving. Im 20 years old and my boyfriend and I like getting away sometimes. We live in Virginia and want to stay around here, but we want to visit somewhere thats exciting and fun and hopefully somewhere neither of us has been. We've been to nags head all over like kitty hawk, avon, corolla etc. myrtle beach all over as well, williamsburg a million times and we just recently went to baltimore to see the inner harbor (amazing!). i've been to nyc and atlantic city when i was younger (would like to go again but i still cant gamble). i would like to go somewhere with a fun night life, attractions (not a lot of museums i would rather wake up n enjoy the nature aspect rather than have to see it in a museum). i've been to pen. but also a long time ago and i went to see the amish lol (high school trip). I like riding in traffic so i dont mind the ride, but i'd like to keep it at about a 5 hour drive give or take a little. p.s.- i have an id that says im a lil older than what i am so i might could get away with somethings...but i think i would get in deep doo doo if i tried to gamble with it so thats probably a negative right? please give me any ideas i want to have a birthday i'll remember forever!
For North Carolina Residents.....Advise please? Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My family and I are planning to go to North Carolina for a Christmas vacation and we are lost. We want to stay in one of those cabin rentals in the mountains because we are from florida and the highest hill you'll find around here are NONE....We want to ski, visit the smokey mountains, kayak, or water rafting, fish, visit the line that divides Tennessee from NC, and horse back ride. We would also like to visit the Baltimore house and the smokey mountain park. Can you please tell me the exact name of the area where i will be able to find all of these...even if it means that we have to drive a bit from place to place. But at least have the opportunity to do all these things while in there. I tried looking online but they give so many names like, ashville, and Charlotte, and some others and i am confused. Please help and advise me of where to stay and other attractions i haven't mentioned that are worth doing while in there. Please help me. Thank You very much.
Best city to take a day trip? Okay so here are the specifications. I will fly in for the day in the AM and then fly out the same night. I will have $50 and want to have a great day. So the city must have an airport and adequate transportation. I will have only $50 to include transportation, meals and attractions. It can be done. Tell me where I should go and what I should do. If possible include transportation favorite eats and things to see. And not NYC, New Orleans or Baltimore. I have already done those cities in a day and had a great time. I want to try something new! The flight is already taken care of so the $50 is on top of that. Thank you!

Tent Camping On A NE US Beach? Looking for a shaded ocean beach location to tent camp this summer. Must be in Northeastern US, within a day's drive of the Baltimore MD area. How is this irony? 10 pts for best answer.? This is taken from Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass (An American Slave Written by Himself).Beginning of Chapter 3 (pg. 31 in my book): "Colonel Lloyd kept a large and finely cultivated garden, which afforded almost constant employment for four men, besides the cheif gardener. This garden was probably the greatest attraction of the place. During the summer months, people came fromfar and near-from Baltimore, Easton, and Annapolis-to see it. It abounded in fruits of almost every description, from the hardy apple of the north to the delicate orange of the south. This garden was not the least sourse of trouble on the plntation. Its excellent fruit was quite a temptation to the hungry swarms of boys, as well as the older slaves, belonging to the colonel. few of whom had the virtue or the vice to resist it. Scarcely, a day passe, during the summer, but that some slave had to take the lash for stealing fruit. (continued) The colonel had to resort to all kinds of stratagems to keep his slaves out of the garden. The last and most succesful one was that of tarring the fence all around; after which, if a slave was caught with any tar upon his person, it was deemed sufficient proof that he had either been into the garden, or had tried to get in. In either case, he was severly whipped by the cheif gardener. The plan worked well; the slaves became as fearful of tar as of the lash. They seemed to realize as the impossibility of touching tar without being defiled." please help. thank you!
Should i date an army guy? I am a waitress at a restaurant that is directly off the highway. It is the closest mall to an arsenal base nearby. a couple weeks ago i met an interesting group of young men who kept my day going by fast and a smile on my face, one of them in particular. of course, you guessed it, he took down my phone number and we began to get to know each other. i work fri, sat, sun every weekend and sat/sun is the only time he has to leave base, and i could never get time off to spend with him, so he kept coming to my restaurant just to see me for a couple of hours. finally spring break arrived and i had previously requested time off for a weekend. turns out that we were short of servers, and i only had a few hours to spend with him. so he took me to dinner, and the infatuation began. he has so many qualities of just guy that ive been looking for. for example.. he adores his family, hes a HUGE dog person, he loves to read and he cooks! (he's full blood italian). He told me after dinner that he had to see me again, so we hung out the next saturday and i called out of work. We spent an amazing day at the inner harbor in baltimore city, my hometown. i told him that i refused to allow him to leave baltimore without seeing the beautiful sites of the city. we went to the national aquarium, afterwards he said that HE wanted to show ME something, so he took me on a little tour of a ship that is stationary at our harbor from Pearl Harbor. i was amazed at how much he knew about the entire ship, and it opened my eyes for his thirst for knowlege. afterwards we had dinner on the water at the cheesecake factory (awesome food by the way). and with each minute passing by, we are growing a deeper attraction to each other and didnt want the day to end. but, before it did, we talked about possibilities. long story short, we want to be together. He graduates from basic training in 10 days and then he gets to go home, the only problem is, home is Wisconsin. I know, because my dad was in the air force, some of the ups and downs of dating a military man, and dating long distance, but eventually im going to be moving to north carolina to transfer to a 4 year college in wilmington. he wants to be an assult flyer who jumps out of helicopters and things of that nature, which has a training base an hour or so from where i'll be moving to. whether or not things fall into place, i want this to work, but im not sure if it will. im 18 and hes 21. im young and have my whole life ahead of me, so if it doesnt work out, at least i can say i tried. what do you think?
Are my feelings an overreaction? Weve been married for 3 years. A year ago ther awas a conflict of bounderies. I dont have female friends or even answer the phone if my wifes friends call. My wife never had issues with it till a year ago. There were guys calling all the time when I was at work or in the other room. My wife would hang up the phone and say it was her mom. We went on vacation and she spent the whole time either in the hotel room or for a walk to be on the phone. Is that normal? We finally talked about it and it stopped. recently I notice my wife started being on the phone more again and on the phone for hours talking to guys again in other states? I have noidea whats up with that. Last sunday one of the nunmbers that called and said they had the wrong number called and asked for my wife. I asked who is it he said his name and I gave her the phone. I went for a drive to cool down. And confronted when I got back she told me she had male friends when we first met and has no attraction to them and theres nothing going on. The following week she left with coworkers and went out of town. I am not sure of how I feel about anything anymore. The guy that was on the phone email this afterthe sunday after I told her I dont feel comfortable and im not going to have any guys calling for my wife. I feel theres no need I dont even answer the phone when her friends call. the following is the email that I found. pleasse leave response of what you would think even without seeing the email too. Im a little old fashion thinking but I dont know what is the norm now? thanx for the respnses """""""""""""""""""""" I got the email - I can't cancel a trip I am not taking. Either you come to Baltimore for a fun weekend or don't. Believe me, while I am excited to see you - think we will have a great time, I am quite capable of having fun without you. Who are miranda and kate? What did they say? I can't think of anytime I have been creepy. Why are you so cryptic about everything - I work with secret squirrelly shit all day and am more straight to the point. Call me when you get this. If it isn't until tomorrow, this is the one time I can carry my cell phone with me while at work. I would like to know if I should drive to BWI to pick you up or if I should make plans with my friends and/or coworkers here. Travis """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
