What are the main chinese exports? This is for an economics project. I need to compare the main exports of china with those of the US. If you can provide me with any in depth info i would appreciate it.
Should we boycott Chinese exports and the Olympics because of their persecution of Tibet? The Chinese stole our jobs and have poisoned us and our pets with their shoddy exports. Now, this nation of gangsters and communists is persecuting the Tibetan people who only want to be free of their Chinese slave-masters. I think that we need to tell the Chinese that we are in solidarity with the Tibetans and that we are mad as heck about what the Chinese have been doing to us. Do you agree that we should boycott Chinese exports and the Olympics? For my part, I am no longer buying my favorite treat, smoked oysters, which are only available in cans from China. how much do we rely on chinese exports ? and how much does china rely on us to keep buying their stuff ? who can't live without the other and vice versa ? china has a strong manufacturing industry and engineering/construction industry too. recently they have developed the worlds fastest 'overground 'train system, a train that travels between two cities (which normaly took 9 hours by their standard train) at 246mph, in under 3 hours ! on top of this, china also has a strong agricultural industry ...but an intresting thing i read/found out about china is that, the population of over 60 year olds to young ppl is like , 60:40, and approaching 70:30 lol so there are plenty of old fogies out there. if we boycott chinese products would it hurt chinese economy ? if china stopped sending us their exports would we be focked ? i want to hear from markets/global finances/etc boffins on this. and the odd crazed man united fan. ^_^
Do you support devaluing the US currency to the Chinese yuan to help US-based manufacturers? US-based manufacturers want the U.S. currency to be devalued so that Chinese exports flooding the market would not give Chinese produced goods an extra advantage in the open markets. This would in theory push American multinational companies to settle back to the U.S. soil, employing American workers. In the long term, a devalued U.S. currency would also mean that less people would be interested in investing American industries.
Chinese Exports Should Be Boycotted! With all the recalls and the latest human rights violations? http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20080701/pl_afp/oly2008chinarightsuscongress I am SO sick of our country being poluted with items from China. Their products are making us sick and the import of THEIR wheat gluten killed our pets. not to mention lead in our childrens toys. and our government doesn't care! I refuse to buy anything from China from now on. Especially now that they violated the agreement with the Olympic Committee just to host the Olympics. They don't care about their own people why would they care about ours. Lets all stop buying their products to include fireworks this 4th of July !!!!!!! Take a stand this 4th of July and Celebrate with USA products NOT Chinese ones I mean Imports NOT Exports. Sorry I'm so ticked off I used the wrong term
How Does Chinese Monetary Policy Boost Chinese Exports? I understand that China "pegs" their currency to the U.S. dollar, although some have called it a soft peg. I understand that China does this to keep their currency undervalued so that their exporters have an advantage and foreign importers are at a disadvantage. My question is this, why would pegging create that advantage? Let's say that the rate was 1 U.S. dollar to 10 Chinese yuan (I think it's actually 6.8). If the rate was always 1 U.S. dollar to 10 Chinese yuan, why would that make a difference? After all, if China decided to do business in dimes rather than dollars, wouldn't it all amount to the same thing? How does pegging actually change the underlying value of currency?
How can I determine the class (grade) and quality of Chinese products sold online? What websites sell Chinese products that have the same quality as Chinese products exported to the US? Most of the Chinese products sold where I live (outside the US right now) are of poor quality (both material & workmanship) which is very frustrating because I know there are grade A Chinese products. I just don't know where I can find them on the internet?
Why do people still not know that buying exports (like Chinese), is good for America? ...and so is places like Walmart for that matter. Yet so many Americans I hear complain that Walmart ¨takes away jobs from Americans¨... and ¨buy American¨etc etc... It´s the same old mistake over and over that we make as a society. If we really want to move forward we need to study history, and economics and we will see that Walmart actually leaves more money in the hands of consumers, and that allows us to buy more things. If you don´t believe me, ASK AN ECONOMIST!!! Vin, can you READ A BOOK??? AND THEN TALK TO ME!
If the Chinese float their exchange rate, would it hurt their growth or enhance it? If the yuan appreciates, their exports will fall because it'll be more expensive, so as per that, a decrease in net exports component of aggregate demand will fall and they will be able to afford more imports, meaning a possible trade deficit. If the Chinese Yuan is set by demand and supply forces, could it amplify their growth rate in anyway? Best answer will go to whoever can discuss the positives and negatives of this effect and come to a conclusion, whether it will hurt or enhance their growth.
Do you know that the Chinese people roots for McCain-Palin? The Chinese people like Bush. He even came for the Olympics. They blog everywhere about this. Under Bush, China became prosperous because of its dealings with United States. A lot of jobs in China right now. A lot of exports to US. Right now, the Chinese has been rooting for McCain hoping that under McCain, China will continue to progress.
If America imports much more than it exports, does the mass of the country change? Example: America imports billions of pounds of Chinese products every year, and sends much less to China in exports. Does the Country gain weight/mass and could this possibly effect the balance of the Earth? After years of continued imbalances? Yes, I know it's a crazy question and yes I did think of it. So I figured why not ask? And I'm not a doomsdayer, just wanted your opinion.

Chinese govt plans export tax rebate slash? (Xinhua, Jul 24, 2006)BEIJING, July 24 -- China will reduce tax rebates on exports of resource-intensive and environmentally-harmful products, officials say. An as-yet unreleased policy is scheduled to take effect around September or October, despite strong protests from domestic companies and traders, according to Caijing magazine. The move reflects the government's drive to shift the nation away from low-value-added exports. "The government wants to see a trade balance. We're not deliberately seeking rising surpluses," said Ministry of Commerce spokesman Chong Quan. Introduced in 1985, tax rebates for exports have made Chinese products more competitive on the international market. But it is now expected rebates will be cut by an average of two per cent for products such as textiles, iron and steel. Only high-tech industries will avoid the cuts their rebate is being increased. http://www.zoomchina.com.cn/index.php?/content/view/9953/1/
should we ban exports from china now after this happened? now after that powdered milk scandal.shouldn't we ban exports from china now and start trustuing our own products.its proves the point "chinese don't have qaulity control".they are probably going to send us a few such things and we will be over.they are communits.remember!
Why Chinese people like to eat ribbonfish more? ribbonfish is a favourite seafood delicacy to chinese people, and most of the chinese love to eat this fish.India is exporting huge quantity of frozen ribbonfish to china and also in china ribbonfish available in good quantity.
How safe are we from Chinese intercontinental ballistic missiles? During the cold war there were several 'mistakes' that could have set off a nuclear exchange between the Soviets and the USA. Today China has many IBM's pointed at us, and if the quality of some of their manufactured exports is any indication of quality control, it scares me to think of the failsafe systems for their deadly weaponry! Need I be concerned? Perhaps they are nowhere as developed as I fear they are. I would appreciate any enlightening. Thanks. Do they have automatic systems like the Soviets did ? How concerned should I be about a 'mistake' ?
Where's the best place to buy cheap or scrap silver? I want to start making small investments in sterling or other silver. Looking at new Chinese exports on ebay US, but weight isn't mentioned - some pieces on there starting at 1c including freight, so I made a few bids, but really looking for ounces rather than grams. Any advice welcome.
What if China decides to cut off exports of consumer products to the west? We are depenent on China now. Nearly everything we need , use, wear and enjoy is Chinese. Look around you. Even Mercedes and BMW manufacture cars in China and why not? Quality is good and prices low. Your TV, Computer, Ipod, cell phone, clothes etc..Chinese. What if they decide to cut us off? we'll be crippled and the most likely cause would US aggression. The Chinese and Russians are buddies now.. Theres a new space race...the US is trying to get there (for the first time) before the Chinese. If the Chinese pull the plug on America we'll be sent back to the stone age in no time.
What do you think about the Chinese Food and Drug Administrator being executed? Talk about accountability in government! This guy took bribes leading to all the tainted food and drugs that China exports we've all been hearing about. So they executed him. Somebody should tell the Chinese how Capitalism works. You gotta grease the wheels a little sometimes. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/6286698.stm thank you Sax, good point. Who's responsible for poisoning foods and drugs?
Where do you think the Chinese goverment should put its resources on? I am a Chinese that live in Beijing and I am interested to know what do westerners think about this topic. In China, a lot of people are talking about it. Here are the top ten that voters on a internet poll choosed: (1) Anti corruption (2) Agriculture (3) Environmental protection (4) Lower the unemployment (5) Education (6) Economy and industrial development (7) Health care (8) Defense (9) Anti terrorism (10) Other Personaly, I think we should work hard on Education and Economy and industrial development. It is because thoses thing will improve the people's lifes and make China strong in a long term. So, what do you think? This is a open question to everyone, but please respect yourself and others when answering. P.S. To prove that I realy live in China, the headline of China Daily (the national english newspaper) on march 13,2007 was "Export barriers 'disastrous to firms'. Things like human rights, voting, democracy, and freedom of speech are great. But I think we will need to be strong first in order to have thoses thing or I fear the nation just can't take it.
Where does the Chinese gov't get all those Yuans to buy dollars? I realize corporations export to the US and earn dollars, and the Chinese government buys these dollars and uses them to buy US securities, resulting in massive foreign reserves. The part I don't understand is where the Chinese government is getting all those yuans from to buy the dollars. From taxes? From printing money? Wouldn't the first hurt the economy, and wouldn't the second risk inflation? Or do they print yuans exclusively for the purpose of buying dollars with them?
Can xml files containing Chinese and English be import into an Excel csv sheet? I designed a form using Adobe Acrobat Professional 8/LifeCycle Designer 8.0 and have been compiling the returned data (xml/PDF by email) using the 'Manage Form Data' > 'Merge Datafiles into Spreadsheet' method in Acrobat to export into MS Office Excel 2003. The initial (English) versions have been fine, but some of the forms have been returned in a combination of Chinese and English and the Chinese characters show as dots of question marks in the Excel sheet. As a workaround, I cut'n'pasted the missing characters from the xml files directly into the Excel sheet. This seemed fine, but when the sheet was re-opened the Chinese characters reverted to dots or question marks. Has anyone experienced similar problems? Is this an Acrobat or Excel issue? I don't have a lot of experience with the csv format, is it connected to that? Thank you PS. The language settings for Chinese (all variations) are enabled and we're using XP Pro.

Are the Chinese concerned about the products they are exporting? Seafood imports from China raised in untreated sewage Fish products consumed by Americans treated with dangerous drugs, chemicals Posted: June 4, 2007 1:00 a.m. Eastern By Joseph Farah © 2007 WorldNetDaily.com WASHINGTON – China, the leading exporter of seafood to the U.S., is raising most of its fish products in water contaminated with raw sewage and compensating by using dangerous drugs and chemicals, many of which are banned by the Food and Drug Administration. The stunning news follows WND's report last week that FDA inspectors report tainted food imports from China are being rejected with increasing frequency because they are filthy, are contaminated with pesticides and tainted with carcinogens, bacteria and banned drugs. China has consistently topped the list of countries whose products were refused by the FDA – and that list includes many countries, including Mexico and Canada, who export far more food products to the U.S. than China.

Should Mattel be responsible for it's overseas manufacturers' construction practices? I noticed today, that Mattel is recalling yet another bundle of it's China-made toys. What I'm wondering about, is why they don't just fix the problem? When are they going to start employing quality control in their products? They've sold China-made toys for decades. China didn't just recently invent lead-based paint. There has to be a point where someone holds the company in charge accountable for this. I'm also forced to wonder, is there really a product safety issue, or is Mattel being brought into political affairs by bashing the Chinese export market? Thoughts?
chinese business? I'm chinese, and lived in china.exports chinese goods ,I need american import.who can give me the info
Illegal weapons exports growing - How can we stop these TRAITORS in our country? Nancy Pelosi has 3 in her state mentioned. California man pleaded guilty last August trying to smuggle 100,000 Uzi guns and night vision goggles to Iran. Two more California men pleaded guilty on August 1 to exporting military-use tech. to China even computer code to help train fighter pilots. Spares Global, Inc. of Pittsburgh sentenced for lying about exporting equipment used in nuclear reactors and ballistic missiles in 2003 to Pakistan. Indonisian man indicted in Madison, WI Thurs. on charges of conspiring to export rifle scopes to Indonesia. two Utah men arrested for trying to sell parts over the internet for F-4 and F-14 fighter jets which are only flown by Iran. Two more San Jose, California engineers indicted on charges of stealing computer chip designs intended for the Chinese military. This I just read 55 minutes ago by an AP writer named Lara Jakes Jordan on Yahoo News. The Speaker of the House needs to be speaking in California to her people about loyalty to their country before she represents all of the states in our government. If she visits Syria again, track her with a woman FBI agent. Mark - I'm ranting. We know if these have been caught that many more are out there.
Bought any Chinese tires lately? It´s not enough that they are killing our pets, poisoning or toothpaste, exporting filthy food etc., now they are hitting us in our automobiles by exporting tires that can literally disintegrate at highway speeds. How many out there think that every item exported by the Chinese to the U.S. should be clearly labeled as coming from China so that we can decide whether to purchase it or not?
