I live in Massachusetts. The company I used to work for is not paying me my last paycheck, what can I do? I was a cook at a restaurant. I gave them my 2 week notice back in september (the 20th I think)....I was an important part of the operation so they asked me if I could stay another week on top of my 2 week notice and I did (like an idiot), so my last day was the 12th of october. They paid us bi-weekly so my last check was for the 19th of october. I went in and they said they didnt have it and that they would mail it to me. It has been 11 days and still no check. I called them today and they said they "sent my check to china" and that I would get it in a month. WTF!?! The labor board said I have to fill out a lost wages form but that could take months to process. The company is a Limited Liability Co. (LLC) so if they close down (which they are close to), my money is gone baby gone. Any lawyers want to give me a direction to go in? I have bills to pay and Im getting screwed, so I would GREATLY appreciate your advice. Thanks! Also.....the company paid me & the entire staff our last 3 or 4 checks UNDER THE TABLE. Can I get them in trouble for this?? redgator......thanks a whole bunch for your input. You suggested something I told you I did, whats the point???

A question about divorce in two states.? My friend has asked me to post this question for him as I don't know the answer but I know someone will. He has been separated from his wife for 4 to 5 years, they have 3 children together almost 18, 16, and 13 years old. He pays weekly child support ordered by the court. He wants to get an online divorce . There is NO MONEY to be had for either of them. His estranged wife lives in Connecticut . He lives in Massachusetts. If he goes for this online divorce, in what state should he begin this process.? I have asked him to consult with a lawyer but he won't, so I told him I would post this question for him. Thank you for your answers so I can finally give him some insight!!
