Tv Horror Hosts Knowledge Base

Anyone remember horror movies on TV hosted by a guy with a face painted on his chin? This would have been 25+ years ago, so on NBC, CBS, or ABC. I remember watching these horror movie marathons on maybe Sat or Sun mornings or early afternoon with my grandpa. The "host" was a guy with a face painted on his chin, head upside down, and the rest of his face and body was covered with a vampire costume I think. I haven't been able to find anything on line. Anyone remember this?

In the early to mid 80's there was a horror tv show on FOX hosted by a guy in a top hat, what was the show?

Can someone help remember the title of a horror TV show from the late '60s of early 70's.? The horror TV show I'm trying to find was an anthology type show, (similar in format to "Night Gallery", or the "New Twilight Zone" but with no host) from the late 60's or early 70's. What I recall most was the show open; it was shot at an eerie looking amusement park at night, with POV shots of riding in a roller coaster, and with everything in an almost negative image. There was one episode about a woman trapped in a library at night being led around by a ghost she thinks is trying to help her, but in fact is setting her up to kill her. I don't remember many other details, except that it was a pretty scary show! It may have been produced in England, but again, I was pretty young at the time and the details are pretty hazy. I'm pretty sure it was on network TV, and not a local independent station. Does anyone recall a show like this? I would hugely appreciate any help or suggestions on where to search. old horror movie or tv show? I do believe it was early 80's-it may have been a tv show-the parents get a notice that their son didn't make it out of the war-but a little later he shows up at the door-he ends up being kinda like a zombie-at the end he is running and falls into his own grave-it may have been from that old show-only thing i can remember about it is the guy had weird glasses(the host) and I do belive he sat on a moon or something-lol-sorry the show came on late late night if that helps-it was a tv movie but this guy was the host and he showed different movie each week-may have been on friday's--and why do people insist on answering if they aren't interested or don't know :O( the show was called night owl theater-just thought of that-his glasses looked like owl eyes maybe-but i still don't know name of movie-don't remember the parents getting three wishes-just the service people coming and telling them their son was dead but he comes back-I think he has to kill people for blood or to eat-it may be more vampirish then zombie

T.V. host in a sci-fi/horror movie with green monster legs? I saw a movie years ago where an evil scientist was capturing people and turning them into monsters. In the beginning of the movie this woman tv host is talking to the main character who got turned into a monster. The only monster I remember is a worm guy who helps the other monsters by digging a tunnel out. At the end of the movie the evil scientist gets thrown in the monster making stuff and the scientist is actually the t.v. host the whole time with green monster legs. Sorry my question is so long I'm trying to be as descriptive as possible.

What are some appropriate Halloween-themed movies for 10-12 year olds? I'm hosting a Halloween TV party for my kids ages 10-12 and their friends of the same age group. Moon in sagittarius placement? I've noticed a strange thing about this moon. Many individuals which could be considered "genius" seem to have this moon position. Granted, it's not exclusive by any means (there are many examples of other placements), but the list of people who rose to top in their professions, who outdid their peers, who became synonymous with their fields of mastery have this position. For example: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (snonymous with music), Ludwig van Beethoven (same thing), Albert Einstein (synonymous with genius and physics), Michael Jordan (synonymous with basketball), Oprah Winfrey (synonymous with reality show and TV hosting), Steven King (synonymous with horror books). There are many others which are not maybe genius, but are interesting and successful in their own right, Mariah Carey, Steven Wilson (of Porcupine tree - in my mind a genius), Al Pacino, Vincent van Gogh, Jennifer Aniston, Nicole Kidman, Kevin Kostner, Charles Dickens, Marissa Tomei, Anthony Hopkins, Justin Timberlake, Becky Hammon and so on... They all have one thing in common: Moon in Sagittarius. This doesn't prove anything, but having this placement, I often felt that it's sort of like "my saving grace". I don't know, not everything in my chart (or life) is great, but this just seems like something I can call upon. Like, when all else fails, there is moon in sag to help out at the last moment and bring things back to normal, like everything "sorts itself out". Like a "hidden inner resource for the future days". And I don't think astro-books descriptions with "outdoorsy, happy-go-lucky, optimistic, jovial, life of the party" are correct. There's something deeper about this. I just think, regardless of what astro-books say, I find something very "fortunate" in this particular placement, I dunno... Anyone else with this placement feel the same way?

Infamous Murderer Who..(Seen on TV).REALLY NEED TO KNOW? A few months ago I was watching something on TV (could possibly be "most famous murderers", or something of the sort..possibly on court TV) where a man would tell women that he was a photographer & take them back to his place. He would tell them to act out a murder scene while he took photos, then he would actually come up and kill them just how they were supposed to act out & take pictures of him doing it. On the TV program, it actually showed a couple of the pictures and the guy hosting it said something like "and you can see the horror in their eyes when they realize this man is going to kill them" or something like that. The photos were black and white so it's obviously an older case, but does anyone know the name of the guy? It's really been bugging me...thanks for any help! sorry. this may not even be the catagory to post this kind of question...

Please identify this HORROR MOVIE? The general theme is pumpkins that attract young children and their parents but with the haunting music it activates snakes which kill their hosts. Scenes include: *Childrens ryhmes being played over and over in the film and sounding very innocent. *The parents and their 2/3 children go to a motel and turn on the TV. *The childrens ryhme and music is played enticing the viewers to place pumpkins on their heads. *The music speeds up activating snakes to come out of the pumpkins and starting to consume the heads of the children...I know, very gory. *The parents look on, horrified, unable to help since the same thing is happening to them. This is really a haunting and scary movie and I can't recall its name. What is the name of this movie? Thanks for your help!

Could you tell me the name of this old horror movie? I haven't watch whole of the movie though. it looks like its made in the same time of the movie "pet cemetery"...go back to our movie, its about the lady who turned herself into a nun and living in some old apartment that has got portrait of satan and the end of the story there are a lot of ugly creatures come out of portrait, some of them look like a cripple dwarf's and they did something to her and the story that nun is turned to be satan. she got black eyes and looking out of the window of the old apartment. as I said period, I haven't watch whole of it...I watched this film on the cable tv. at the other ppl house and the host changed the chanel all the times so I don't know the name of this movie.

books to buy to take with me on the cruise (romance/horror)? So this winter (in December) I’m going on a cruise with my family and there will be many days of relaxing while traveling to the islands (we’re going to the Caribbeans – like a few of the Saints). And so what are some books I should get to read with me? I read pretty fast (like I can read 700 pages in like 4-6 hours if I like the book). So here’s a list of books I have read: All of LJ Smiths books (vampire diaries, night world series, secret circle series, dark visions etc) I love all her books Lisa Mcmann’s books – wake and fade; love this series Alyson noel’s books (I really love her writing) – the immortals series (getting the third and I’ll read it in a day…), saving zoe (I want to get cruel summer) I absolutely loved saving zoe! Maximum ride series; loved maximum ride series Twilight series (do not recommend it for I don’t love it…. – got sick of it) The host Wings Harry potter series coraline true blood series (the books not the tv show) the blood brothers The wicked lovely series percey jackson and the olympians I have vampire diaries, house of night, vampire kisses, uninvited eand I don’t really like titanic all that much for it’s sad…– I think I’m going to bring them on the cruise but I read through them and I’m not that into them…. No one was there. Your being paranoid, just calm down. His smarter self told him. Of course, his reasoning said different: somebody could come running out of the bushes and shoot him. He had no protection, no food, and he had no idea where he was. He was wounded and walking in a pathetic stride. He was also wanted by a group of terrorists who decided they were going to kill all the Americans in the area. Not the friendliest bunch of guys. He and captain Withers had been taken capture to be questioned on where they might find other people to kill, and when they refused to talk , the assholes had stabbed him in his thigh and shot captain Withers in the shoulder! Thank God they took the bullet out. When the torturers decided to call it a day, Withers told him to make a run for it. He wanted Mr. Withers to come with him but he claimed his shoulder hurt too much to dodge more bullets. So he ran alone. And when he was sure he was out of site he wasn’t sure where to go next. Now he’d gone three days without food, and since he hadn’t changed his bandage yet, the wound was starting to heal over it. He wasn’t sure that was good. Then suddenly he saw a light, flicker in the darkness about a hundred yards ahead. He wasn’t sure weather to go around it, or go right straight for it. But his leg hurt too much to keep walking, so he hoped that maybe this was a house with people who didn’t want him dead. He slowly moved forward, and yep, it was a small cottage. He climbed the little porch stairs with a painful groan. Knocked on the door and waited. The seconds going by as if hours. Tick Tock, Tick Tock. He knocked again, still no answer. Being really hungry and sore, he ignored his moral code of not breaking and entering, and tried the door. It was surprisingly unlocked. He opened the built in pantry and took out a family sized bag of Doritos and started devouring them. He was sure he’d lost ten pounds, and he had non to lose, maybe muscle weight, but he needed that. After being partially filled of hunger He decided to search the rest of the house. On the opposite side of the living room there were two doors. Door number one or two? Says the game show host in his head. He tried the door on the right. It was a bathroom with a sink, a toilet, and a stand up shower. Well, he hadn’t gone in an actual toilet in about a week, so he decided while he was here he would use the facilities. He noticed a door to the bedroom behind the bathroom door and tried the knob to see if it was locked. Nope, so he opened it. He shouldn’t have. There on the floor lay a man and woman, both bludgeoned to death. Blood stained the wood floor in a deep red. There eyes open and glazed over. Looks of horror on both there faces. It wasn’t a pretty sight. Blood sprayed across the light blue walls and the white closet doors. “Oh, god.” He whispered. They looked U.S. of A., alright. The woman with blonde hair, the man with brown. Obviously killed by the terrorists. Poor people. They had probably been minding there own business, baking cookies or something, when the murderers attacked. He had seen a lot of death, being in the army since he was eighteen, but it never got any easier to see. In fact, it was harder and harder to sleep at night seeing it more often. Always wandering if he could have prevented it. And just like he had done seven days earlier when his best friend was blown to kingdom come & beyond, he cried. He wasn’t quit sure why. He didn’t know these people, and there was no way he could have prevented it, but all the same he mourned for the loss of lives. A few minutes or so past, and he remembered he had to pee. So, he wiped his eyes and walked back into the eggshell painted bathroom, lifted the lid (out of courtesy to the dead of course), zipped down his fly, and started. After he was done, he put down the seat and zipped his uniformed pants back up, he turned around toward the door, deciding he would make right and bury the two dead souls, then he saw a kid. A wide eyed little girl staring up at him. Well, fuck.

What anime would you recommend for me? I need another anime to keep me occupied, but i need your help to do so. Please look over the anime I favor and why I favor them and try to match them with another anime I may like. But please, don't say anything like Naruto, InuYasha, Ect. Every anime lover should have at least heard of those and if I had any interest in them I'd have put them in my list of favs, which I don't. Thats just my opinion though. I suggest looking over some of the anime I list if you haven't heard of them because they are all very great anime, probably since I have a very strict taste of anime I choose to watch. Justin Michaels whirled around looking for the cause of the noise he had just heard. No one was there. Your being paranoid, just calm down. His smarter self told him. Of course, his reasoning said different: somebody could come running out of the bushes and shoot him. He had no protection, no food, and he had no idea where he was. He was wounded and walking in a pathetic stride. He was also wanted by a group of terrorists who decided they were going to kill all the Americans in the area. Not the friendliest bunch of guys. He and captain Withers had been taken capture to be questioned on where they might find other people to kill, and when they refused to talk , the assholes had stabbed him in his thigh and shot captain Withers in the shoulder! Thank God they took the bullet out. When the torturers decided to call it a day, Withers told him to make a run for it. He wanted Mr. Withers to come with him but he claimed his shoulder hurt too much to dodge more bullets. So he ran alone. And when he was sure he was out of site he wasn’t sure where to go next. Now he’d gone three days without food, and since he hadn’t changed his bandage yet, the wound was starting to heal over it. He wasn’t sure that was good. Then suddenly he saw a light, flicker in the darkness about a hundred yards ahead. He wasn’t sure weather to go around it, or go right straight for it. But his leg hurt too much to keep walking, so he hoped that maybe this was a house with people who didn’t want him dead. He slowly moved forward, and yep, it was a small cottage. He climbed the little porch stairs with a painful groan. Knocked on the door and waited. The seconds going by as if hours. Tick Tock, Tick Tock. He knocked again, still no answer. Being really hungry and sore, he ignored his moral code of not breaking and entering, and tried the door. It was surprisingly unlocked. He walked in and saw a comfortably furnished living room, with a couch, two chairs, and a TV from about the 60’s on a little stand. Cozy. He reviewed. He limped into the kitchen. It had only a two seater table and a wood stove. No refrigerator. He suspected there was a freezer out back though. He’d check for it in a minute. He opened the built in pantry and took out a family sized bag of Doritos and started devouring them. He was sure he’d lost ten pounds, and he had non to lose, maybe muscle weight, but he needed that. After being partially filled of hunger He decided to search the rest of the house. On the opposite side of the living room there were two doors. Door number one or two? Says the game show host in his head. He tried the door on the right. It was a bathroom with a sink, a toilet, and a stand up shower. Well, he hadn’t gone in an actual toilet in about a week, so he decided while he was here he would use the facilities. He noticed a door to the bedroom behind the bathroom door and tried the knob to see if it was locked. Nope, so he opened it. He shouldn’t have. There on the floor lay a man and woman, both bludgeoned to death. Blood stained the wood floor in a deep red. There eyes open and glazed over. Looks of horror on both there faces. It wasn’t a pretty sight. Blood sprayed across the light blue walls and the white closet doors. “Oh, god.” He whispered. They looked U.S. of A., alright. The woman with blonde hair, the man with brown. Obviously killed by the terrorists. Poor people. They had probably been minding there own business, baking cookies or something, when the murderers attacked. He had seen a lot of death, being in the army since he was eighteen, but it never got any easier to see. In fact, it was harder and harder to sleep at night seeing it more often. Always wandering if he could have prevented it. And just like he had done seven days earlier when his best friend was blown to kingdom come & beyond, he cried. He wasn’t quit sure why. He didn’t know these people, and there was no way he could have prevented it, but all the same he mourned for the loss of lives. A few minutes or so past, and he remembered he had to pee. So, he wiped his eyes and walked back into the eggshell painted bathroom, lifted the lid (out of courtesy to the dead of course), zipped down his fly, and started. After he was done, he put down the seat and zipped his uniformed pants back up, he turned around toward the door, deciding he would make right and bury the two dead souls, then he saw a kid. Trying to figure out the name of a movie? It is a somewhat of a horror flick. A group of people end up being told that they would get paid some money to stay in a old insane assylum type building. The building locks down and the one hosting it says he didn't do it. They go around thinking nothing of it then end up starting to get killed one by one. There is one scene where a guy goes into this chamber and the door gets locked and it ends up spinning and he starts seeing things. The ending of the movie is where two of the people are fighting and one gets pushed through a wall where it reveals this ghost that starts coming after them. They run to the top of the building, but there is no way out. One of the people that were enveloped by the ghost ends up coming back from the dead to help open an exit in which one or two people from the original group was able to get out. There is another movie that is a bit similar, but I think much older where it is a similar premise in that they will get paid by staying a night or two, but end up dying one by one..... saw that one long long ago and don't remember much of any details. Any hints would be great. The first movie I'm thinking of might have been a TV only movie, but it did have CGI effects for the ghost. Yey! Its House on Haunted Hill! Thanks guys.

They featured Katherine Lester, a pretty 18-year-old American woman who travelled to the West Bank to be with Abdullah, a 22-year-old Palestinian man she "met" on the Internet when she was 16. This was the second time that Katherine had flown to the Middle East to see the young man; on the first occasion, in response to her family's objections, she got as far as Amman, Jordan, before being picked up by the FBI as a minor and escorted home. The first episode showed videos of the star-crossed youngsters in Jericho holding hands and staring lovingly into one another's eyes declaring they wanted to marry much to the horror of Katherine's mother and sister, who shared the stage with Dr Phil. The mother said she feared the boy had brainwashed her daughter or was keeping her from going home against her will. Dr Phil made a meal of the fact Katherine's life could be in danger in the Middle East and said he would do everything in his power to get her away from him and back with her mother. And he did. When Katherine joined the show alone via satellite he treated her like someone who had been kidnapped even though she protested her happiness and told him she intended returning to the US very soon. Later, when Abdullah joined her, Dr Phil berated him for disrespecting her parents, criticised his parents for sending Katherine an air ticket, and repeatedly asked him why he hadn't been to the US embassy to request a visa for the United States. He then badgered the girl to return to the safe arms of Uncle Sam on the coming Friday and insisted he would send an escort so that she could fly from Tel Aviv airport. It was evident Katherine didn't want to leave and, in fact, the Dr Phil show bought several tickets home and sent several escorts before she finally agreed, only to arrive home to discover her mother and sister hadn't bothered to turn up at the airport to greet her. The last episode was the most offensive. This time Abdullah was on his own in the West Bank studio, while Katherine was on the stage. Again, on Dr Phil's repeated say-so she told a shocked Abdullah that their relationship was over and depicted him as a possessive stalker, causing him to remove his earpiece and walk off only to return a little later to ask why. On Dr Phil's prodding, Katherine admitted with a wry smile that she had met someone else. "An American," said the ecstatic Dr Phil enjoying this hallelujah moment to the full. After all, he had saved this cute American princess from the evil machinations of a Palestinian, who wanted her for goodness only knows what nefarious purpose, and the audience loved every second. One of their own had been brought home. No understanding There was no understanding of exceeding difficulties Palestinians encounter to get a US visa that would first entail Abdullah getting a permit to travel to occupied Jerusalem where the nearest American consulate is sited. And there was no explanation that the only threat to the girl's life while she stayed in the West Bank was from Israeli attacks. It was clear that Dr Phil was clueless. We were told that the couple were in Jericho on the West Bank, yet on several occasions he mentioned Katherine's flight from Gaza. It's certainly true that nobody really wants their 18-year-old daughter to take off into the unknown on an emotional roller-coaster, and I can understand her mother's concerns, but, what I found objectionable about the show was the way Dr Phil stressed that Abdullah was an Arab, presenting Palestinians and this region in a negative light. He even went so far as inviting Betty Mahmoody. author of the book Not Without My Daughter, onto the show so that she could warn Katherine of the dangers of hooking up with a Middle Easterner. She is still in hiding from her husband after 25 years, Dr Phil told his audience in an obvious attempt to paint all Muslim men with the same brush. That could have been you, he scolded Katherine. No wonder Abdullah thought the pop psychologist made him look like "a bad guy" even "a terrorist." Last Sunday, Abdullah had the opportunity to give his side of the story on the MBC1 chat show Kalam Nawaem, a sort of Arabic version of The View. The female hosts rounded on him for not properly defending himself or his culture on Dr Phil, and then he dropped the bombshell. According to him, the pair had married but Katherine hadn't wanted to admit this on TV. So the "possessive stalker" Katherine had referred to had actually been her husband. Congratulations, Dr Phil, for managing to wrest asunder a happy couple! The question is would he have done the same if the young man had been called Alan or Aaron instead of Abdullah, and even if he had, would his audiences have applauded as enthusiastically? Go on! But it quickly became clear that his abuse, not his cookery or his passion, was tastiest to the mob, so Ramsay made it the signature dish of Hell's Kitchen - a series I found too thuggish to watch, but which made him a star in the US. And Channel 9 lasciviously screened it all - every screaming Ramsay tirade against some fumbling kid, diner, cook or housewife who'd dare to take their dreams of chefdom on to his set. Not once did Nine complain. Abuse meant ratings, after all. But now Ramsay has abused not some kitchen nuff-nuff, but Nine's own Tracy Grimshaw - and done so just weeks after she won praise and viewers for so comprehensively damning Johns. Once again, Ramsay could hardly be blamed for not seeing the line he'd crossed. Was there even one? After all, Grimshaw had just had him on her show, hoping to profit yet again from his viewer-drawing foul mouth. So delighted was she with his efforts after their flirtatious banter that she even included - for ratings points - Ramsay's jeering at a mole on her face: "Is that a wart? It looks like your little sister's on your lip." Ramsay actually said that after their recorded interview was over, but before the cameras were turned off. Yet Channel 9 wanted so badly to use it that it put to air what it now condemns. How often the media feeds on what it then claims in mock-horror is foul. Little wonder that Ramsay the next day gave his food show audience more of the very same, with extra sauce. Grimshaw, he haw-hawed, was ugly, wide and cold inside. Joking about swine flu, he flashed up pictures of Miss Piggy and a woman on all fours with the teats of a sow, and snickered that they were of the Current Affair host. It was boorish, brainless and without even the slightest excuse of "context". Yet on the video I've seen of Ramsay's presentation I could hear the audience laugh and laugh again. They were getting exactly the shock show they'd paid for. Ooh, that wicked Gordon. But there were also gasps and groans from a few - although mostly at Ramsay's even fouler mockery of Susan Boyle, the Britain's Got Talent singer and a much weaker target for a bully. Even then, however, Ramsay might have felt he'd get away with it. AFTER all, his tirade was all over almost every newspaper and TV news bulletin, guaranteeing him yet more eyeballs for his next show. Even Nine responded by offering him yet more of what keeps his show on the road, reportedly asking him back on A Current Affair to confront the hurt Grimshaw. For Ramsay, it seemed so much like just another day in the kitchen that he couldn't believe this time he'd gone too far: "I find it hard to believe that anyone was offended . . . I never thought of anyone in Australia having to be wrapped up in cotton wool." Many teens are enjoying shows like C.S.I. and That 70’s Show. But as our technology advances, some concerns are roused up, one of these issues: Does T.V. produce more harmful effects than positive for teens? The negative side believes that T.V. lowers the health of teens, promotes inappropriate thoughts, and has a negative effect on the identity formation on teens. The positive disagrees and believes television has a positive impact on teen identities, and is a great source of information. Negative: According to the A.C. Nielsen Co., today's teens spend 900 hours per year in a classroom but 1500 hours per year watching television. Though television provides us with entertainment, it also can be quite harmful. With cable and satellite our favorite channel is just a click away. This easy access to entertainment has replaced healthy activities with Gossip Girl and Family Guy. Research has shown that the amount of exercise in teens has dropped roughly 36%. The lack of enough exercise has lowered the immune system of many teens. Not only that, a large amount of teens can be found staying up till midnight staring at the television screen, depleting precious sleep time, causing fatigue and significantly lowering grades. A scientific experiment once found that students with better grades watch the least television. Also, television is damaging to vision, especially to growing teens. Even worse, television introduces many inappropriate subjects to underage viewers. Studies in psychology have shown that many intense movie genres like horror and action can impact emotions of teens. Some advertisements found on television also use improper techniques to lure viewers; sexual inferences and appeals can be found in gum and fast food restaurant commercials. These advertisements could have an unforeseen effect on the formation of personality on teens. In general the programs on T.V. have negative effects for teens. Television can also have a huge impact on the development of identity in teens. Studies show that the average American teenager watches 200,000 acts of violence on T.V. by the age of 18. These along with other arguments introduced above show that television can influence teens to do criminal things, turn to irrational ways of violence. Lowered grades would affect a teen’s future; lowered vision would impact teen lives and in the future including inability to drive, or tortured by glasses or contacts. These all affect the identity of teens in a negative way, one that needs more attention. Television might seem like an innocent source of amusement, but we must remember that what seems harmless now can have its effects in the long run. Television is just fine the way it is, it actually is a matter that needs more concern; it can lower grades, decrease health and promote inappropriate acts in teens. Positive: Television provides us with various forms of information, some which both involve entertainment and also education. Nowadays, different teens with unique interests can quickly flip to a favorable channel that fulfills their curiosities. Notorious shows like House and Myth Busters cleverly utilizes appealing ways to inform viewers of many facts that they once were unaware of. Other programs like Discovery and Nova open the eyes of teens to the nature and the world of science. Not only that, television keeps us up to date with the world, their country, and their community. It allows many teens to keep up with technology as well as the most recent news on many developments in many areas such as: politics and science. Television is positive because it informs teens with news, and also subjects where their interests lie. Besides these points, T.V. can have a very positive effect on the identity formation in teens. Shows that were intended for entertainment have their subtle effects. Talk shows and even T.V. series can inspire teens to become an actor, director, or show host in their future. Sport programs often bring many families and friends together, especially creating closer relations between parents and rebellious teens. These effects would create a great identity and future for teens. Despite many strong illusions about the maliciousness of television, it actually is quite beneficial. It notifies us with recent and fascinating information, and also creates a positive identity for teens. Television is not as evil as you think it is; it just has a false perception.
