How is the commute from Baltimore to UMD College Park?

I am thinking about moving to Baltimore to live with my girlfriend, but would have to take night classes at UMD College Park. Driving up and down 95 in the evenings seems like a terrible idea. Are there other reasonable options?

  1. Driving 95 is about the best straight shot route. It will take about 45minute to get to UMCP from B-More. There is another option though: You could take the scenic route -- Route 1. I would be careful though some parts of Route 1 are notorius for deer crossings especially at night.
  2. I lived in Baltimore and had to drive to College Park to research for some of my classes. I took Route 1 which is about an hour in rush hour traffic. Taking 95 would be about the same amount of time really, but the drive just seems more frustrating on 95. Another option might be to enroll in classes at UMBC (in Baltimore County), if it is more convenient. I know that when I attended UMBC, I was able to sign up for classes at both campuses. Check into it at College Park, it might save you a bit of a commute.
  3. that school is a scam and is awful money stealing jerks. don't go there
