How much would it cost to live in Baltimore, Maryland?

Sometime within the next three years Ill be moving to Baltimore, Maryland. Ill have a roommate and I would like to have something with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. I was wondering how much it would cost, including all expenses. Or if it would be easier to live in a suburb of Baltimore and just get a house with 3 of my friends instead.

2. Your best bet is living in Towson, which is a suburb that's 15 minutes from Baltimore. Its a college town so you can enjoy cheap rent without having to live in a high crime area. Living down town will always be expensive. But if you don't have your own transportation you'll probably have to actually live in Baltimore which I think would cost around $1,700 for a decent 2 bedroom. I have a friend who lives walking distance from the Baltimore harbor downtown with a roommate. She pays around $900 a month and her roommate pays the other half. Total is $1,800.
