How can you tell whether a country is developed or developing through their exports?

I have to classify all the countries and state whether they are developed or developing based on their exports of goods and services for the year 2002. What would be the average $ spent on exports and any exceptions? Thanks.

1. The WTO classifies developed and less developed countries -although it is a grey area.
